- INTRODUCTION
-
- CV-Schedule ("Church Volunteer Scheduler") is a program for
- automatically scheduling the volunteers who help at Church.
- It is typically used to make service schedules for Ushers,
- Greeters, Choir, Organist, Musicians, Eucharistic Ministers,
- Lectors or Readers, Altar Servers, Offertory Family,
- Nursery Attendants, and any other Ministries that are needed
- at Church Service or Mass.
-
- It only takes CV-Schedule a few seconds to compile schedules
- that would take many hours of work by hand. It can
- coordinate Family Ministries, dual Ministries, and other
- scheduling options that would be virtually impossible to
- manage with by-hand scheduling.
-
- The scheduling is done using a flexible set of rules that
- can be customized to fit the requirements of your Church and
- of individual volunteers. Scheduling options available for
- each volunteer and family include:
- * Avoid splitting the family between 2 Masses/Services on
- any weekend
- * Always serve together as a Family Ministry
- * Serve together as a Family Ministry whenever convenient
- * Baby-sitter option: Husband and wife will not be scheduled
- together
- * Serve every week
- * Serve more or less often than normal
- * "Unavailable" dates
- * "Must schedule" dates
-
- C-V Schedule can schedule volunteers for:
- * Regular Saturday and Sunday Masses/Services
- * Weekday Masses/Services
- * Special Masses/Services such as Christmas Day, Ascension,
- etc.
- * Any other events that occur on a regular weekly schedule
- or on a one-time basis
- * Ministry sub-groups such as Lector I and Lector II, or
- Head Usher and regular Usher
-
- This program gives you Schedules and Sign-In Sheets that are
- ready to view and print using your word processor and
- computer printer. There is no need to transfer information
- by hand to a paper form.
-
- CV-Schedule will work for Catholic or Protestant Churches or
- other organizations. The names of your Church meetings
- (Mass, Service, etc.) and Ministry names can be fully
- customized.
-
- A Database Manager is integrated with CV-Schedule to create
- and manage the four databases used: Ministry Database,
- Mass/Service Database, Personnel Database, and Formats
- Database.
-
- I am offering CV-Schedule as Charityware, which means you
- can try it at no charge for up to 6 months to see if it
- meets the needs of your Church. If it does not meet your
- needs you simply stop using it and have no obligation. If
- (hopefully) CV-Schedule does meet your scheduling needs, you
- make a contribution to charity, register your copy of CV-
- Schedule, and then can continue to use it permanently. The
- recommended contribution for registration is US$0.05 per
- member or parishioner of your Church, up to a maximum of
- $100.00.
-
- You are free (and encouraged!) to copy CV-Schedule and
- redistribute it on a not-for-profit basis to other Churches
- for their evaluation. Please redistribute only the
- compressed file, CVSCHED.EXE, the setup utility, SETUP.EXE,
- and this file, README.TXT. These contain all the files
- needed to set up and run CV-Schedule.
-
- The compressed file, CVSCHED.EXE, includes:
- * Integrated Scheduler and Database Manager program
- * 50+ page instruction manual with extensive examples and
- help sections
-
- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
-
- * An IBM compatible computer with 80286 or higher processor
- (IBM AT or higher.)
- * At least 640 kilobytes of memory
- * A hard disk with at least 1 megabyte free space
- * Either DOS or any version of Windows is supported
- * A mouse is fully supported but not required
-
- To view and print the Schedules, Sign-In Sheets and Database
- Listings generated by CV-Schedule, you need a word processor
- that will import Rich Text Format (RTF) files. You probably
- already have the required word processor. Most versions
- (both DOS and Windows) of WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Word
- Pro and Works can import RTF files.
